The wampee is an evergreen fruit tree belonging to the genus Clausena in the family of Rutaceae. It is a green shrub or small tree, native to the subtropical zone. The fruits are golden yellow and bright, which can be divided into 2 categories (Sweet and Sour) according to nature and flavor. Some varieties of the wampees have a right proportion of sweetness and sourness in taste. The pulp is juicy with a pleasurable aroma. The wampee is perfect in color, aroma and taste which can be comparable with the litchi.

They can not only be eaten fresh, but also be processed into jellies, jams, candied fruits, fruit pies, cooling drinks, salting or sugaring products.
